Last week I visited stunning Germany’s capital for the first time – Berlin. I heard from many people that the city with its cultural background and exciting nightlife has got much to offer and that you won’t forget it again quickly. Now it was time to convince myself. I packed my bag and got on the train.
I did some research and found 6 things for you guys you shouldn’t miss out if you’re going to Berlin. But shhh..! There are some insider tips!
1. Berlin’s TV tower
When I arrived in Berlin, pulling my trolley behind me and strolling through the the pedestrian districts I already noticed it. Berlin’s TV tower is with its 368 m height Germany’s highest building and because of it’s terrific view definitely worth a visit. Fancy a drink? No problem. Inside the TV tower there is the bar 203. As the name says, it is located 203 m above Berlin. Apart from the view you can have home made cocktails and yummy bites. 4 m further up there is the fancy restaurant „Sphere“ which treats you with dishes of Berlin’s and Brandenburg’s as well as international cuisine.
2. City tour
If you want to fully explore Berlin you need to go on a city tour with one of the double-deck busses! The most convenient thing is that you can coordinate the route, the starting time, starting point and final destination as well as the key subject of the tour yourself according to your preferences. What else do you want? 😉
3. AMANO Bar
When you enter AMANO Bar in Auguststraße 43 in Berlin Mitte, you immediately feel like placed inside a James Bond movie… Styled in earth and black tones with a moody lighting with top notch drinks. You won’t find ordinary drinks over there. The bar impresses with home made cocktail creations and with a splendid service. You definitely see and taste that the barkeepers love their job! For all the party people beyond you, the weekend’s are settled with different DJs inviting for a warm up. AMANO is the perfect place to let the day come to an end and to meet up with friends.
In Berlin you’ll find plenty of super hip places like Gingersboat. This place, located in Wühlischstraße 15 in Knorrpromenade district, stands out due to organic and fair trade products. After a visit in this higgledy-piggledy shop your heart will smile.
5. Joseph Roth Diele
I love the 20ies style and exactly due to that I fell in love with the small pretty coffee house near by Potsdamer Square. As soon as you get into the coffee house you feel like being back in the glamorous 20ies and you’re free to start daydreaming… While coming across quotes on the walls straight out of Joseph Roth’s novels and listening to piano sounds you can sink into your chair with a nice cup of coffee or a nice meal. Simply brilliant! Visit this bar Joseph Roth Diele in Potsdamer Street 75 and believe me – it’s worth it.
6. Arielle’s MACARONS
Nobody can say no to good macarons. You feeling the same? Then stop by in Schillerstraße 93 at Arielle’s MACARONS’!! Their colorful temptations taste just delicious in this atmosphere! Arielle is a passionate and creative baker who constantly refines her recipes. She inspires her creations and her customers every time again with the new best macarons.
